The Center for
Cross-Cultural Psychology was established for the scientific study
of and education about cultural influences on human psychological
functioning. Culture is broadly taken to mean shared meanings and
understanding (e.g., values, norms, attitudes) held by group
members.
The Center for
Cross-Cultural Psychology is committed to:

Promoting
culture-related research by Center associates and Western
Washington University students by providing small grants and
through other means

Offering
courses focusing on culture and encouraging the inclusion of
cultural content in other courses in Western Washington
University’s psychology curriculum
-
Promoting
inter- and intra-national exchanges between cultural scientists
through participation in professional organizations and with
research/educational centers that share the Center’s interests

Disseminating
the results of culture and psychology research

Assisting in
preserving a record of the history of the scientific study of
culture and psychology
