Michael Naylor's FreeWare

Here's some software that I've written for the Macintosh. HyperCard or HyperCard Player is required.  Use 'em  Have fun with 'em!  Share them with your friends!  If you know how to open the scripts on a stack, look at the code!  Modify it!  Have fun!  Then send me an email and tell me what you found out... mnaylor@cc.wwu.edu

Pi Memorama! Everything for the Pi Memorist! Recite digits, browse the library, and print study cards. How many times have you been dying to recite the 300 or so digits of pi you've memorized, and just couldn't seem to find anyone who wanted to listen? Here's a program that will listen and appreciate your talents, any time day or night. Lots of nice features: lets you start and stop anywhere, keeps track of errors, maintains a practice log, prints study cards, and more. Supports 10 000 digits . . . if this isn't enough, you're a mutant and don't need this program. (18K stuffed HyperCard stack) HyperJuggle is a juggling pattern simulator. It comes with an action tutorial that teaches you the basics of "vanilla siteswap" notation. You can invent your own patterns with 1 to 10 balls, or use the built-in patterns. (40K stuffed HyperCard stack)
The Chaos Game allows you to explore the relation between randomness and fractals. A point is plotted as it jumps around towards randomly selected vertices.  You'd think you'd get a mess, but you dont... you get beautiful and compelling fractal images.  (26K stuffed and binhexed HyperCard stack) Seeds & Spirals is a tool to explore the beautiful and mysterious spiral patterns that arise in nature. Create golden spirals or any other ratio, trace spiral families, even number the seeds to hunt for other patterns.  Amazing connections to Fibonacci numbers, rational approximations of irrational numbers, and lots more!  All that, and pretty pictures, too.  (32K stuffed HyperCard stack)
