Overview and Mission

At Western's Music Department, the exceptional music faculty are driven to encourage, nurture and celebrate the musical gift in every one of its students. They are here for only one purpose: you. The Department of Music offers professional academic and performance courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels for the qualified student who desires to specialize in music. The department also provides a high quality educational experience in music for all university students. In addition, it serves as a focal point for the campus and the regional community through collaboration, participation and leadership in music performance and instruction.
