Experimental Design
ESCI 502
Effective scientific research requires powerful experimental designs. In this course, we study principles of good design. We draw heavily from professional literature discussing appropriate use of statistics in experimental studies and practice using a variety of techniques to analyze data sets. Our focus is application of the General Linear Model; topics include Modeling, ANOVA, Regression, Covariates, Repeated Measures and Power. We also briefly treat some of the more modern approaches to multivariate data (MDS, ANOSIM, SIMPER).
