Research
Interests
My primary areas of
specialization are Social and Environmental Psychology. I teach graduate and
undergraduate content and research methods and design courses in these areas.
Broadly my research has focused on how social psychological factors, especially
those related to social cognition, influence decisions and judgments made in
uncertain and possibly hazardous situations. Specific research has been
conducted in several substantive areas: 1) Judgments of Environmental Risk and
Hazards; 2) Warnings and Product Labels; and 3) Social Trust and Risk
Management, currently my main interest. Earlier work focused on Adolescent
Risk-related Decisions and Behavior.
