It is always a pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for my students. If you need a letter of recommendation or want to list me as your reference, please take a mement and read this page carefully before making a request.

If you need a letter of recommendation....,

Requirements: (1) You have taken at least one course from me; (2) You have/had good adacemic standing in my course(s) (i.e., a grade in the A or B range, not many absences or missed homeowrk) ; (3) You have at least 2 weeks (preferably 3 weeks or more) before the deadline

What you need to do if you satisfy the above requirements: (1) Come talk to me in my office with a reference form (if provided) and a statement of purpose (or something along those lines that you are asked to submit as supporting document); (2) Send me a reminder email a week before the deadline; (3) Inform me of the result, wheather or not you are accepted.

If you want to list me as a reference...,

What you need to do if you satisfy the above requirements: (1) Come talk to me in my office, and tell me about the program that you are thinking of appling to (If you currently live out of town or out of the country, you may do this via email. Otherwise, please make a request in person as a courtesy); (2) Inform me of the result, wheather or not you are accepted; (3) Please make a request for each application
