Welcome to the Laboratory!
Western Washington University maintains a long-held commitment to Demography as a field of teaching and research. In particular, Western stands out in the degree to which it provides Demographic training and research opportunities for undergraduate students. The Demographic Research Laboratory, in operation since 1975, represents both the foundation and the capstone of Western's support for Demography, the oldest and most basic of all the social sciences.
