Just a reminder! People who are doing Relay for Life should have the money to Jenny by Monday.

Sorry about the awkward silence, folks. Website back in action. The officers have been busy with a lot of end-of-the-year stuff... including planning for the next year.

Reminder, be sure to email and tell us if you're doing Relay for Life! We have a lot of stuff going on at this event, and it would be great if we got as many fencers helping out as possible!

New practice times are up if you havent noticed.

Toodles!

Yesterday (Sunday, March 9th) we had our club's dry tournament. It was a bit of a rough start and we had to move into the top floor of Bond Hall by the end, but overall it went very well. Here are the results:

1st - Jessica Jamsgard with 4 wins, 23 touches scored
2nd - Jenny Novothey with 4 wins, 22 touches scored
3rd - Matt King with 3 wins, 22 touches scored
4th - David Lloyd with 2 wins, 17 touches scored
5th - Dan Spurlock with 1 win, 16 touches scored
6th - Michael Schombburg with 1 win, 9 touches scored

Thanks for everyone who showed up! We hope to have another tournament soon.

Yay, we have our early practice times back! So, instead of 9 to midnight, we're back to 8 til 10. I think that works much better for most people.

A couple of bits of news. If you haven't heard already, the trip to the tournament in Vancouver, BC was cancelled. In better news, we have started our deal with Bellingham Bay Fencing Association to fence at their club every thursday. The price is $100/month for our entire club, so if everyone who wants to go chips in, it shouldn't be that pricey. It'll still be the cheapest fencing in town.

We'll be on the lookout for another tournament to go to soon since we lost our chance at Vancouver. We'll keep you all posted!

Peace.

Sorry for the downtime, guys. It's all better now.

Love,
Dave the Webmaster

PS: I've been trying to get Fencing.net to give us a forum on their site. For now, I've added navigation to our old one. You guys can post there for now. :)

Ok, we have a few updates here at the fencing club.

First of all, PRACTICE TIMES! Yes, winter quarter has been eventful to say the least, and we have some new, interesting practice times. After much negotiation, new official times have been posted. Try to work them into your schedule, fencers!

Secondly... FOOD DRIVE! This weekend is our community service project over at the Lakeway Cost-Cutter. You all should have already signed up for shifts and should have gotten an e-mail regarding such shifts. The dates are Friday and Saturday. Be at your shifts, get your hours done!

I'll set up an events section of the website very soon to check on things like this.

Thirdly... TOURNAMENTS! We have two tournaments coming up, folks. The first is a non-USFA tournament (USFA membership not required) in Vancouver, BC on Feb. 9th. The second is a USFA tournament in Ellensburg, WA which we're leaving for on the 15th and coming back the next day. Please notify us through e-mail if you plan to go to either! We NEED TO KNOW who's going. Please tell us as soon as possible.

Fourth(ly?)... MORE FENCING! We've been offered a deal with BBFA, the local fencing club, to send as many fencers as we want down to their advanced lesson and free fencing on thursdays for only $100 a month for the whole club. This is a wonderful opportunity. If you are interested, please notify us ASAP!

Fifthly... PARTY! We're having a fencing movie/pizza party, hopefully at the comm building, with a date thus far set at Sunday, Feb. 3rd. More info about this soon. Again, send us an e-mail if you're interested!

I hate to sound like a broken record, but If you have any questions, send us an e-mail.

David Out.

The new website is live and running! Mostly, anyway. A few pages are still being worked on, but most of the essentials are here.

Our first practice went really well! We had about 35 people show up. Remember you need a Hold Harmless. You cant practice before you turn it in, so get it done!
