CBE Investment Management and Scholarship
Fund o During the academic year we will
assemble teams of students to participate in: o
1) Asset management recommendations that will
be made to the Investment Fund Board of Advisors. These recommendations will be in the area
of strategic asset allocation, types of assets (e.g., mutual funds vs
individual assets). For example, some
asset allocation goals may be more effectively reached by buying an ETF,
while others may be attained through a diversified group of individual
stocks. o
2) Fund analysis— Individual students or teams
will make recommendations to the Investment Fund Board of Advisors regarding
the investment of fund assets in investment companies (mutual funds,
closed-end funds or ETFs) to meet the asset
allocation goals of the fund. o
3) Equity analysis—Individual students or
teams will work with professors and securities industry mentors to make
buy/sell/hold recommendations (regarding individual assets) to the Investment
Fund Board of Advisors. This analysis
most likely will take place as part of FIN 449, during the quarters it is
offered. o
4)
Investment Fund Monitoring and Performance Measurement—a report will
be made to the Investment Fund Board of Advisors in June of 2010. o
[The Investment Fund Board of Directors
will oversee the activities of the student investment management group. This Board will review student

Policies of the fund. The Investment
Board shall have the entire discretionary authority over the management of
the investment funds.] Plus, don’t forget the… THE STOCK MARKET GAME

will start a new game ASAP …..Can
you “beat” the street?
