This species has been bandied about in a number of genera.
Recently it was known under numerous names, including Omphalina ericetorum,
Omphalina umbellifera and
Phytoconis ericetorum.
The lichen thallus is the green scum that occurs commonly
here on soil and well-rotten wood.
