Undergraduate Music Advising

Because the music curriculum is highly structured, with course sequences beginning only in the fall of each year, it is essential that all music majors have ready access to an adviser. The department of music provides one adviser who oversees the progress of all undergraduate music majors. All music majors must see the undergraduate adviser each quarter in order to register for restricted music major courses. A program planning sheet is provided for each student to track progress through their degree program. The undergraduate adviser also prepares senior evaluations for graduation, signs off on course waivers and approves music education student applications to the Woodring professional education program.
