A few updates:
-We have a speaker, Dr. Stuart Ravnik, Ph.D., coming to speak on Thursday, Nov. 2. Check the calender for more details!
-We will have a booth at the Health Career Fair in the VU, also on Nov. 2.
-We have a new Assistant Projects Coordinator, Sarah North!

Welcome to the Pre-Med Club!

WWU Pre-Med Club Mission Statement:
To provide a channel through which Western students interested in the medical profession can come together to collaborate on the following: plan and participate in events that will explore the medical field and prepare students for the medical school application process, advocate for the improvement of pre-health advising programs within the University, discuss current healthcare and ethical issues relevant to future physicians, and participate in the betterment of healthcare in the community.

Activities:

- Student presentations and discussions relating to ethical issues and current problems facing healthcare
- Talks given by medical students, residents, and doctors concerning their experience applying to medical school, practicing as physicians, the broad range of specialties available to doctors, and the different career paths that doctors can take
- Seminars covering premedical coursework, activities, and the medical school application process
- Presentations by medical school representatives
- Peer mock interviews and peer advising
- Community service activities
- Job shadowing opportunities for Western students
- Practice Medical College Admissions Tests to help students prepare for the MCAT
