The Healing
Voice of Story
7:00-9:00 PM Three storytellers
invite us to join them on a healing story journey, in an awakening for
ourselves and our worldwide community. HSA pre-conference workshop
presenters Nancy Duncan of Nebraska, and Alexander MacKenzie of the
United Kingdom will share stories of challenge and transformation,
with a healthy dose of humor. HSA chair, Gail Rosen, will tell stories
of German/Jewish reconciliation drawn from her recent work in Germany.
Sharing laughter and tears in community, this is sure to be a
rewarding listening experience and a fitting way to begin your
conference.
Come! Bask in story. This concert is open to all.
Admission is $10 ($5 for Healing Story Alliance pre-conference
registrants).

The Power of Storytelling in
Organizations:
How
Top Companies Use Storytelling to Sustain Success
- panel
discussion
7:00-9:00 PM
**Please note programming change for Storytelling in Organizations
program:
We
regret that the articulate and provocative Dave Snowden, who
was originally scheduled to speak on "Narrative Applications in a
Complex Business World," is not able to attend the Conference, and
we look forward to another opportunity to hear his cutting-edge
strategies.
We are excited to announce that in Mr. Snowden's place we
will present a panel discussion with three corporate executives who
will share their insights and describe how they apply the power
of storytelling in their organizations. The panelists are:
- Nelson Farris, Director
of Education and Chief Storyteller, Nike
- Dick Ploetz, Vice
President of Human Resource Systems and Operations, Medtronic
- Rich Barbee, President
and CEO, K/P Corporation
NSN
member and conference presenter Evelyn Clark
will moderate the discussion,
based on her interviews with the panelists and executives
from other top U.S. companies
featured in her new
book, Around the
Corporate Campfire: How Great Leaders Use Stories To Inspire
Success.
It promises to be a stimulating, informative, and fun evening!

Gallery Walk - Many artists, who work in
a wide range of mediums, find inspiration for the art and music they
create in and around Bellingham. Four times a year local merchants,
restaurants, museums, and galleries extend their hours and feature
work by local and regional artists and craftspeople who’s work
includes sculpture, textile, painting, ceramics, woodcraft, jewelry,
and more. These “Gallery Walks” have grown to be an anticipated social
gathering time.
As a special welcome to
conference attendees, both Downtown and Fairhaven will hold their
walks at the same time. Entertainment is being planned and characters
from Bellingham’s past may make an appearance. For your ease, a
shuttle will loop between the two areas and campus. This is a
wonderful opportunity to try one of Bellingham’s fine restaurants, and
meals will still be available for purchase on campus.
