The RSCDS of Bellingham holds monthly dances the second Saturday of each month at the Fourth Corner Community Church, 4071 Home Road. One can find everyone from children to grandparents at these monthly dances. Since there is a range of difficulty in the dances, both beginners and veteran dancers can enjoy themselves and be challenged while dancing.
The annual Ceilidh, Workshop and Ball are held in the first week in November. The Ceilidh has dances for people of all skill levels, and is the perfect event to take someone who you want to introduce to Scottish Country Dancing. One link you might be interested in is this one for monthly Friday evening ceilidhs at the Scottish cultural center in Vancouver. We went once last year and there were over a hundred dancers, many of them young.
Come join us at the Scottish Highland Games at Hovander Homestead, in Ferndale (north of Bellingham). In 2006 the Highland Games will be held on Saturday, June 3rd. The SCD Club and the class from Western are looking forward to performing on Saturday morning and enjoying the festivities for the rest of the day.
