• Papers should be three to five pages in length - word-processed, double-spaced, and conventionally documented.

• The aim of the first response paper is to link an event, activity, film, or outside reading with ideas (and written material) covered during the class. The best papers will integrate and weave elements of the activities attended with aspects of the course.
• The second response is based on your reading of Beloved (and viewing the film Beloved, produced by Oprah Winfrey).

• The responses are due June 2 -the beginning of the 10^th week of the quarter.
