WWU Swing Kids was founded in the Spring of 1994 by a couple of college students who were interested in Swing Dancing. Since then the club has been the home of Swing and Lindy Hop in Bellingham and has helped thousands of people learn to dance, from mild enthusiasts to national champions. Although Swing Kids is a part of the Associated Students (AS), the club prides itself on being the only college swing club in Washington that is completely free and always open to everybody.

Mission Statement

The primary function of Western Washington University's Swing Kids is to provide a place for Western's students to learn various types of swing dancing in an inviting, exciting environment. Another function is to be a catalyst through which students can form new friendships, primarily through promotion of a comfortable, prejudice free social environment at Wednesday night meetings.
