Setup: Alcohol is poured into the end tube that is connected to five different shaped tubes. The tubes are connected at their botttom where the hydro hydro static pressure must be the same.
Observations:
- Except for some small fluxitions the level of the liquid is the same at any one moment.
- The pressure is a measure of the forse per unit area and not on the amount of liquid in the tube.
- To be in equilibrium, the pressure at the bottom of each tube must be the same and is solely dependent upon the height of the fluid since the it is the same fluid in each tube.
- The Hydrostacic Paradox was discovered and explained in a masterful way by SIMON STEVIN [1548 - 1620] and is often called Stevin's Law.
