Scalar or Dot Product:
The Scalar Product of the vectors A and B is equal to the product of the length of A projected onto B times the length of B , or visa versa.

Length/Magnitude of a Vector:
The Dot Product of a vector with itself is always equal to its magnitude squared since q = 0o and cos 0o = 1.

Parallel Vectors:
When A and B are parallel to each other, their Dot Product is identical to the ordinary multiplication of their sizes, since q = 0oand cos 0o = 1.

Perpendicular Vectors:
When A and B are perpendicular to each other, their Dot Product is always Zero, since q = 90o and cos 90o = 0.

Component of a Vector:
The component of A along a direction d is equal to the Dot Product of the vector A and the unit vector which points along the direction of d .
